Dust found this pic today, not sure of the particulars but its definitely an oldie. Look at that miniature laptop! I did an interview for the Blisspop blog (I play their party in DC this Saturday) and talk about how I got my start DJing, it felt like an appropriate snapshot.

Went to Australia, see above (more FG vids: Road Gold tour, SXSW and our crazy Austin mall parties, and our Miami showcase and Rap Party). Went to Copenhagen and can reveal more on that trip later…

Did a podcast with Treasure Fingers (disco raps, banter, pro tips), and was on Hot 97 with my dude Danny Brown (we played a Fader party that weekend too). Peep the guest “throwback mix” from Rosenberg’s show below.

20 years later, Weekend At Bernies has spawned a dance and accompanying rap song, an award-winning travel reporter, and whatever the shit Jonathan Silverman is doing now. There’s a new Self song that came out this summer and is fantastic, one day I will write a proper post on how much I love their his records. The first (best?) CMJ show I ever saw was Self headlining the Dreamworks showcase in 1999 at some NYC venue I can’t remember but very certain it no longer exists (other acts: Blinker The Star, the guy from Jonathan Fire*Eater who they didn’t ask to be in The Walkmen. Why do I remember things?) Extensive Kenny Fucking Powers article (”…like a finger of dip against my mind’s bottom lip.”) Onion A/V club has some of the best Q&As in the biz. I bought a book off this one. “LA Burnout” mp3 comps of hazy sunsets n Laurel Canyon jamz. Super super good mix from EVR / Minimal Wave Veronika. Funk Flex Live At The Palladium ‘95. Play as Obama in NBA Jam. Sidebar: why won’t Sega drop a new system? Wii and PS3 nah fit mi personal lifestyle branding. GENESIS 2K11 DREAM IT BE IT.
