Two summers ago I visited Atlanta for the first time. Drove around in Will Welch’s Honda Accord with him and Michael Schmelling, got hamburgers and frosted oranges from the Varsity, and went to Killer Mike and Bubba Sparxxx’s houses.

The album Mike was recording at the time, Ghetto Extraordinary, finally came out this past Friday, on the internet. It’s great. Not sure what Bubba is up to at the moment - I think he’s on Koch - but here’s his “Pocket Fulla Midz” anyway, perhaps my favorite song about mid-grade drugs ever recorded.

Spent the last month puting together a bunch of music and Ikea furniture. More of that on the site soon (not the shelving).

All the latest Fool’s Gold news has been going up on our blog. What else cracketh? I did a mix for the FADER 50th issue release party that they handed out on a bunch of USB keychains. Got this mix from Sports called “I’m Hungry” when we all DJed a show with RZA (who brought Shyheim the Rugged Child with him!). Wale has a cool track on this Rhymefest vs Michael Jackson tape. I’m sure there’s more to link, I’ll get to it soon.

To check: holiday joints, the homie Delay all up in the New Yorker blog, Claude Von Stroke’s great Essential Mix from a few weeks ago (tracklist), Pretty Titty disco mix on Modyfier, some new Hot Chip, and Rick Ross eating Tears For Fears and getting little crumbs of Roland Orzabal in his beard.

Bunch of shows to the left (to the left), the Fool’s Gold blog finally moved from our MySpace page to a place where people will actually read it (plus we got shirts for sale!), Cosmo Baker drops science, DJ Soul has fun with the 90s, Snoop has fun with the 80s, and Todd Terje has fun with GNFnR.

Also people seem really into the vinyl rips, so I will keep them coming: here’s the 12″ version of “Finally” edited for mixing out after the 2nd chorus, made real quick tonight to play at the High Top Fades release party.
